marble art from industrial marble waste.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>EcoMarble<\/strong> is a research project co-financed by the <b>European Community<\/b> in the framework of the program &#8220;<strong>Competitive and Sustainable Development<\/strong>&#8221; (GROWTH 1999)<\/p>\n<p><strong>EcoMarble<\/strong> was based on the development of a &#8220;smart&#8221; method for the proper exploitation of secondary products created by the industrial processing of marble such as marble dust.<\/p>\n<p>The project aimed to propose a solution for the utilization of waste marble in the art and reproduction industry through the creation of marble replicas on an industrial scale.<\/p>\n<p>New methodologies and tools were developed to absorb waste in production and create real marble replicas of historical objects or objects of modern design with cultural identity. The project combined and integrated many different techniques and technologies to cover all stages, from design to construction.
