(patios) for their cladding with glass curtains (aluminum and glass)<\/strong><\/p><p>Research program PABE 94 BE 261, co-financed by the General Secretariat of Research and Technology, Ministry of Development within the framework of the Industrial Research Development program.<\/p><p><strong>Contracting body<\/strong>: Doral A.B.E.E.<\/p><p>In Greece there was no unit that pre-manufactures the profiles in its factory. All companies used the traditional ways of measuring each profile on site and post-fabrication resulting in low productivity, mediocre quality and high cost. Also, no guarantees could be given for the construction, nor for stability and anti-seismicity, nor for the non-collapse of the glass curtains.<\/p><p>The object of the research program was the development of a methodology, based on photogrammetry, for the accurate mapping and study of the external surfaces of high-rise buildings and special constructions (patios), at the stage before the application of glass curtains. For this purpose, digital and analytical photogrammetric techniques were applied in combination with shots from semi-metric, and non-metric analog and digital cameras.<\/p><p>Still within the framework of the program, design files-libraries of the produced aluminum profiles, which are used in the construction of building facades and atriums, were developed.
