Evaluation of rapid DEM (Digital Elevation Model) generation from TERRA–ASTER satellite data and color digital orthophotomap production, for cartographic and environmental applications.

The research program “International Cooperation in Industrial Research and Development Activities at a Pre-Competitive Stage 2005”, co-financed by the General Secretariat of Research and Technology (Ministry of Development), within the framework of the Competitiveness program, 3rd CSF.

The object of the project is the rapid construction of DEM from TERRA-ASTER satellite data, which are available at a very low cost on the Internet, to evaluate their accuracy for various uses in the field of studies and development programs in Greece.
