Geonalysis S.A. participates in the APSIM research project funded by the «RESEARCH – CREATE – INNOVATE (2nd cycle)» Action

Geoanalysis S.A. announces that participates in the research project “Applications of situated simulations-APSIM”, which is funded under the State Aid Action call «RESEARCH – CREATE – INNOVATE (2nd cycle)».

APSIM aims to create a situated simulation application to promote cultural heritage sites using Augmented Reality (AR) technologies that will work seamlessly with the existing site infrastructure, making site visits more interesting, more effective, more ‘clean’, smarter, more relaxing and enjoyable. At the same time, the same application in Virtual Reality (VR) mode will allow non-site users to have the corresponding visit experience. In essence, the project will result in a new product that will provide visitors and other users with expanded capabilities. The visitors will use their mobile device, smart mobile or tablet, to experience the archaeological site as it used to be in the past looking through their high tech “window to the past”.

The project will develop and apply localized simulation technology in two emblematic archaeological sites (Dion Pieria and Delos of Cyclades) as well as the Athens Epigraphic Museum.

APSIM consortium consists of the following partners:

1. ISenseGroup, Research Group of the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS) of the National University of Athens in Greece (NTUA),

2. The Ministry of Culture and Sports – Epigraphic Museum

3. The Ephorate of Antiquities of Cyclades

4. The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki

5. COntent Management In Culture P.C.(COMIC)

6. Geoanalysis S.A

The total funded budget of the research project is 690.000€ and it has a duration of 30 months.
