Project title : «3D Forest LiDAR Inventory Assessment by Geoanalysis (3DFOLIAGE)»
The objective of this research project is to develop and implement advanced technologies for 3D mapping and forest inventory. Specifically, the project involves the collection and analysis of data from ground and aerial LiDAR systems, as well as the utilization of high-resolution satellite imagery.
These data will be used to extract structural characteristics at tree and stand levels, classify forest species, and generate three-dimensional maps of forested areas.
A web application will be developed for the visualization and management of 3D data. The scope of this research project is to establish a detailed and accurate methodology for forest inventory, which will contribute to forest protection and sustainable forest management.
